Dan Ramsden is the founder and a managing director of DreamTigerEquities a New York based merchant banking and advisory firm specializing in digital media and related technologies and services.
Mr. Ramsden's banking and finance career began in 1990 with Bank of Montreal, where he was a Director involved in leveraged buyouts and highly structured debt financings. In 1994, Mr. Ramsden joined the Bank’s start-up investment banking operation (now BMO Capital Markets) as Managing Director, responsible for the development of a media and communications U.S. investment banking practice. In this capacity, he was active in private placements (equity and debt), M&A advice, and public equity and debt underwriting. In 1999, Mr. Ramsden’s responsibilities were expanded to once again include credit-related products and soon thereafter also private equity investments for the Bank’s proprietary fund. More recently, Mr. Ramsden was a Managing Director at Near Earth LLC and Bentley Associates, two New York based boutique investment banks established by veterans of major Wall Street firms, including DLJ, Citigroup, BofA, and others.
Throughout his career, Mr. Ramsden has worked with clients ranging from start-up entrepreneurs to mature international public companies, and he has advised issuers as well as investors. He has assisted many of his clients in the creation of business plans and the formulation of long term strategies, in addition to the execution of transactions. Mr. Ramsden has executed more than $10 billion in transaction volume in nearly all the principal media and communications sectors, from the most traditional to the most current.
Mr. Ramsden graduated from Cornell University in 1986 with a B.A. in English, and earned his M.B.A. cum laude in Corporate Finance and Accounting from Fordham University in 1990.
